STUDENTS OF THE MONTH FOR OCTOBER FOR SOUTH HAVEN SCHOOLS

Emelia Cabral is a 15 year old sophomore at South Haven High School. Cabral achieved South Haven’s October student of the month. She has attended South Haven since the last two weeks of her eighth grade year.

She does not do any in-school activities but out of school she takes vocal lessons and plays her violin. “I like to sing, I like to do a lot of performance arts like acting and singing. I also like to paint,” Cabral says. Her favorite class is English because Mr. Pettyjohn is her favorite teacher but she also just loves literature. The class she excels the most in is Math, taught by Mrs. Zimmerman. Cabral also said, “My favorite part about school is hanging out with my friends, Claire and Sydnie.” - by Sydnie Rae

“I feel like there’s a lot more kids who deserve it more than I do. I’m happy, but I didn’t expect it, so I was surprised,” Cabral says. She was gifted a Muffin Top gift card when she was informed she was student of the month.
